Teacher Testimonials
In 2007, I took the JourneyDance Teacher Training with Toni Bergins.
I became so free and inspired in the dance, and even though I never
expected to teach, I realized the effect dancing had on me. Toni
brought me to my heart and soul over and over and I was (and remain)
deeply grateful. I taught a few classes and then stopped. Recently,
I felt I needed more confidence to continue to teach. So, in 2009, I
went to re-take the Training with Toni. Well, you know how often in life
we get what we least expect? and it's usually much more than we could
ever imagine? My main goal was to sharpen up my choreographed moves. I
came away with so much more, skills I will use in my continued teaching
AND in my life: trusting my own intuition; trusting that I don't have
to do it alone, that the group will inspire me; trusting that I really
am an amazing teacher. I can trust, even if I don't have it planned,
particularly if I don't have it planned. In my dance class or in my
life, something.... call it spirit, intuition, trust in myself.....
will take over and guide me to come forth into freedom and joy. Thank
you, Toni, for teaching me that. If I could, I would take your Training
over and over! .... because this is a lesson to be practiced over and
over. We are all of us amazing teachers with unique qualities; we only
need to trust ourselves and the process.

Feeling as though I returned to the womb of a birthing experience
that had been so profound for me during my first JourneyDance teacher
training, the ReUnion weekend offered me strong connection and a place
for deep reflection. Having been teaching for a time on my own, it was
scintillating and comforting to be with other JourneyDance Teachers who
had gone through the same experience as I had. We were all touching
base with the rich "mother" of the practice, fully engaging with our
bodies, minds and souls since we had been launched into the world as
Teachers, and able to move even deeper into what the dance symbolizes in
our own lives. I was so grateful to get a full charge of energy and
love from everyone, including Toni and Root, affirming my forward motion
as a JourneyDance Teacher as well as bringing my questions and powerful
experiences to the bigger group. Toni offered deeper and more diverse
practicum for our paths as teachers and dancers, and a fresh gust of
inspiration is now moving my classes. Thank you for offering this
oppurtunity!

I loved the first Module of the JourneyDance Teacher Training with Toni
and had so much fun, but I was uncertain about the time and financial
commitment to take the Module 2 Training. With 2 friends from the first
Training, we decided we would jump in and just do it. Boy, was that
ever the right decision! The Module 2 Training transformed my life in a
deeply magnificent way. I loved the casual intimacy of Earthdance and I
felt right at home in the dorm, the kitchen, and the dance studio. It
was wonderful to be part of a small group of committed and
ebullient JourneyDancers. I felt lovingly supported by Toni and Root,
who took time to listen to the needs of the group and worked with the
energies that arose. We danced with joyous exhiliration and soaring
leaps as well as quiet contemplation for peace, prayer and serenity. We
laughed, cried, opened our hearts and connected from our deepest
selves. There was so much more than the dance, and yet it was all part
of our dance. I left feeling empowered, joyful, open and ready to share
the journey of the JourneyDance. I thank Toni and Root for the time,
love and energy they gave to each of us during the Module 2 Training.
Each time I lead a dance I offer a moment of gratitude for Toni and Root
for sharing this path with me.
